1. What Rotabo Is — and What It Is Not

Rotabo is a technology platform operated from Switzerland that connects people who should not drive (because of alcohol or other impairing substances) with independent drivers willing to drive the client's own car.

Rotabo is not:

• a transport company, taxi service, or ride-hailing operator;
• an employer, agent, or representative of any driver;
• a party to any agreement between a client and a driver;
• a guarantor that any ride will take place, be completed, or be carried out in any particular way.

Rotabo's role ends at the moment of connection. Everything that happens after two users are connected — pickup, route, fare, payment, and the ride itself — is arranged and carried out exclusively between the client and the driver, at their own responsibility.

2. The Cause

Rotabo exists to support one cause: no one should drive under the influence of alcohol or other impairing substances when a safer way home exists. All contributions made through the platform are voluntary donations in support of this cause.

3. Definitions

• Client ("A") — a person requesting a driver through the platform.
• Driver ("B") — an independent person offering to drive a client's car.
• Sponsor ("C") — a person or business making a voluntary sponsorship donation to support the cause.
• Contribution — a voluntary, one-time platform support donation of 10% of the estimated ride value (for clients and drivers) or a fixed sponsorship amount (for sponsors).

4. Contributions Are Voluntary Donations — No Refunds

All contributions made through Rotabo are voluntary donations to the cause described in Section 2. They are not payments for a guaranteed service.

No contribution is refundable, under any circumstances. This includes, without limitation:

• a client whose request is not accepted by any driver;
• a client who cancels a request;
• a ride that does not take place, is interrupted, or is not completed after connection;
• any disagreement between client and driver after connection.

By contributing, you acknowledge that you are supporting the cause regardless of the outcome of your individual request.

5. How the Platform Works

For clients (A):

• A client submits a ride request and makes a contribution to activate the search.
• The request becomes visible to available drivers.
• When a driver accepts (by making their own contribution), the two are connected and exchange contact details.
• The remaining fare (approximately 90% of the ride value) is agreed and settled directly between client and driver, in cash or by card, outside the platform.

For drivers (B):

• Browsing open requests is free.
• To accept a request, a driver makes a contribution of 10% of the ride value. The first driver to contribute secures the ride exclusively.
• After connection, the driver arranges pickup and all ride details directly with the client.

After connection: Rotabo does not monitor, verify, or supervise whether or how the ride takes place. The platform's involvement ends at connection.

6. Driver Self-Declaration

Rotabo does not verify driving licences, driving records, insurance coverage, or the identity of drivers beyond basic account information.

Every driver declares, on their own sole responsibility, that they:

• hold a valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle categories;
• are legally permitted to drive in the country where they offer rides;
• will never accept or perform a ride while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any other substance;
• understand that they drive entirely at their own responsibility and that of the client.

Clients acknowledge that any information displayed about a driver (including "driving since" year) is self-declared and unverified.

7. Insurance and Legal Compliance

Clients and drivers are solely responsible for:

• ensuring that the client's vehicle insurance covers a third-party driver, where required;
• complying with all traffic laws, licensing requirements, and local regulations applicable to them;
• any taxes or declarations arising from amounts settled directly between them.

Rotabo provides no insurance of any kind.

8. Sponsors

Sponsorships (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) are one-time voluntary donations to the cause. In gratitude, Rotabo may display the sponsor's name (and, for businesses, address and map location) on the supporters list. This display is a gesture of thanks, not a purchased advertising service, and Rotabo may reasonably format, position, or update it. Sponsorship donations are non-refundable.

Sponsors choose how they appear: as a business (name, address, map pin), as a private supporter (name, country, city), or anonymously.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the platform while providing false information (including licence declarations);
• harass, threaten, or endanger other users;
• use the platform for any unlawful purpose;
• attempt to circumvent, copy, or interfere with the platform's operation.

Rotabo may suspend or remove any account at its discretion to protect users or the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rotabo, its operator, and its affiliates are not liable for any damage, loss, injury, accident, dispute, or claim arising from or related to:

• any ride, attempted ride, or interaction between users;
• the conduct, competence, or declarations of any user;
• the condition of any vehicle;
• the failure of any request to result in a connection.

Rotabo's total liability for any claim shall in no event exceed the amount of the contribution made by the claimant in the transaction giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law.

11. Emergency Notice

Rotabo is not an emergency service. In case of accident, danger, or medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.

12. Data Protection

Rotabo processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

13. Changes to These Terms

Rotabo may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on the platform. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the registered seat of the platform operator in Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules granting you a different forum.
